First Friday Social 3/4/22

Hello Living Faith! 

We invite you to our fabulous Social this Friday at 6:30 pm!  This is a new event designed to provide time and space for us to relax, hangout and get to know one another.  The only rule is no gambling and alcohol!  Here are some hangout ideas... You are welcome to bring your own or use the board games at church.  You can make music with your friends.  You can bring your own ping pong paddle, roll out the ping pong table to play a game or two.  You can shoot some hoops.  You can watch a live basketball game on the sports channel and cheer for the Warriors (or your team).  And you can be eating and drinking while doing any of the above!  

Talking about food... if you can (no pressure), please bring some food to share.  We do not want anyone to labor in the kitchen as if to feed 5,000 because we are no Jesus!

For starters, someone is bringing a half sheet of birthday cake and someone is bringing rice.  Please comment below so that everyone knows to avoid duplicate.

Oh, did we mention, bring a friend?  And although Covid cases are diminishing, we will still require masking except when eating and drinking.  If you are not feeling well, please stay home and join us next time!  

p.s. coming together offers us a great chance to pray for Ukraine!

  Hello!  I am looking forward to connecting with you this Friday at the social.  May I ask for your help to prepare for the event?  Before we talk about food, let's talk about people.  I would suggest that we put emphasis on college and young adults (C-YA) this month.  Pastor Philip, Johnny, and I identified a large number of C-YA within Living Faith and we want them to feel loved by our church family! Our resident C-YA include : Jenna, Joanna, Daniel, Johnson, Theresa, Michael, Christine, Alex, Henry, Vanessa, Riley, Isaac, Grace. C-YA home for summer include : Nathan, Andy, Austin, Kyle, Alissa, Caleb (June 15), Michelle (end of June), and Rachel (July 8). Other C-YA we know include : Cici, Jalen, Abigail, Crista, Alex & Daniel Z, Jason, Cindy..., etc. See, there are lots of C-YA!  Who will you personally invite to the social (besides yourself)?    Now, let's talk about food! Happy Thanksgiving

There are a lot of things that set you apart from this world.  One of these is being grateful to God.  The Apostle Paul wrote, as far as you are concerned is in Christ Jesus, you give thanks for everything - this is God's will.   I want to thank God for my family, who had been my love and inspiration.  I thank God for you, Living Faith Baptist Church  because you enrich and encourage us.   I praise God for my extended family - yes beyond my family and the church is my extended family - and they range from people who are deeply connected to me from both near and far, and people who I meet every day.   These past two years had been a struggle for many of us.   A lot has been redefined for us but make no mistake when you are a believer in Jesus Christ, your spiritual journey continues on, your church family moves forward with you and your eternal destiny will never change.  These next few weeks, we will venture into the first chapters of Matthew that will lead us to study the first C
